The Epson Stylus SX200 is a latest addition to the economy series of All-in-One printers that offer are both performance and affordable running costs. The SX200 uses four separate Epson ink cartridges and feature DURABrite Ultra ink which makes prints resistant to water, smudging, and fading. The printer cartridges are also affordable and can be picked up for around £30 when bought in a multi-pack, the real saving however are to be had with compatible Epson SX200 ink cartridges which cost up to 60% less than the originals. The performance figures for the SX200 are very impressive on paper, but one that doesn’t seem to stack up is the printing speed. The official figure is 34ppm (pages per minute) but in reality the SX200 is only capable of around 4ppm. Apart from printing speed the SX200 performs better than expected in every area, the scanner is capable of scanning all manner of documents from basic text to high resolution photos and the copier although more geared towards text documents can copy photos to a good standard. The most impressive feature of the SX200 is it print quality, with class leading resolution of 5760 x 1440dpi printing anything from a basic page of text to a high quality artwork or photo prints are no problem for the SX200. Overall this multifunction printer is a good option for those who want versatility without compromising on quality.
