I believe that poker is underrated. Most people think that poker is a simple luck based game. But behind every bet and fold, there is a way to get better chances of winning a round. Poker or more specifically texas holdem poker involves a lot of bluffing and mind games. It also requires a bit of risk assessment to be able to weigh the value of your hand before you make a bet. Good poker is played when you earn and win more than what your hand is actually worth. Such technique is prevalent in a good poker tournament that the term “poker face” is often used to refer to a motionless facial reaction. But facial expressions are not all that is needed to secure a safe spot in a poker match. Gestures, hand movements, amount of perspiration accounts for all the hidden mannerisms that gives away your position in a match. To be able to survive in a grueling poker tournament, you will need to focus greatly on your own hand and observe other players for flaws. Being overconfident might mean that they have really good cards to start with. An insecure player on the other hand relays a message of doubt. But not all who are over confident and insecure are who they act to be. This is where real gray matter counts. Being able to predict or estimate plays and probable cards will be the turning point to every high-stake poker tournament. One way of practicing card handling and risk assessment would be by playing omaha poker.
